 COVID 19 Timeline

April 7, 2021 - Ontario enacts a Provincial Emergency and Stay-at-Home Order effective April 8, 2021 at 12:01 am.  This order requires everyone to remain at home except for essential purposes. March 22, 2021 - The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit (LGLDHU) is in the Red – Control zone of Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework. This Framework and O Reg 217/21 amending O Reg 263/20 (rules for areas in stage 2 – red) detail what public health precautions must be taken, including what types of businesses/organizations can open and operate and related public health measures. 

March 19, 2021 - The Section 22 Order for Carleton Place, Beckwith, and Mississippi Mills is rescinded.

March 15, 2021 - The area moves from Green-Prevent to Yellow- Protect of the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open COVID-19 Framework

March 5, 2021 - In response to the increase in COVID-19 cases in east Lanark County, Dr. Paula Stewart, Medical Officer of Health at the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit has issued a Class Order pursuant to Section 22 of the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act, 1990. The Class Order is posted on the Health Unit website, https://healthunit.org/coronavirus/ along with the most up to date information on COVID-19.

February 16, 2021 - Stay Home Order listed in Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark Health Unit region and moved to the Green-Prevent Zone. The specific requirements for the Green-Prevent Zone of the Framework are outlined in O. Reg. 364/20: RULES FOR AREAS IN STAGE 3.

January 12, 2021 - The Ontario Government announced a Provincial State of Emergency along with a Provincial Stay at Home Order to commence at 12:01AM January 14th for a period of four weeks. In accordance with the order some Municipal Services will be impacted. Staff remain available via email and telephone. Impacts on Municipal Services

January 7, 2021 - The Ontario government has extended online teacher-led learning until January 25, 2021 for elementary school students in the Southern Ontario public health unit regions including Mississippi Mills. For more information on the extension please click on the link above.

December 21, 2020  - At a press conference this afternoon, Premier of Ontario Doug Ford announced further Covid-19 restrictions that will come into effect December 26th and will last for 28 days. Our Municipality is considered Southern Ontario for the purpose of these orders.

 Social Services Relief Fund - Via Lanark County
 

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Province of Ontario has provided relief funding to Social Services to help support those most in need. As part of Lanark County's allocation, an emergency rent/ mortgage bank has been set up to assist County residents who are behind in their rent/ mortgage and are at-risk of being evicted or losing their home. If your household income last month is below the maximum Household Income Limits (see chart below) and your current assets (chequing and savings accounts) are less than a total of 2 months' rent/mortgage, you may be eligible for assistance under this program.

The Government of Canada is taking immediate, significant and decisive action to support Canadians facing hardship as a result of the global COVID-19 outbreak.
