Lanark County Food Bank |
The Pakenham and District Civitan Club will be collecting Cash and Food donations along the route during the Santa Claus parade on December 3rd and and the Scouts will be collecting Cash and Food donations along the parade route in Almonte on December 4th. Christmas Food Basket Campaign (Lions Club, Civitans and Carebridge) |
Carebridge Community Support, in partnership with the Almonte Lions and Civitan Clubs, is once again collecting names of Mississippi Mills residents who need assistance this Christmas. Registration is required to receive a Food Hamper - including all the items for a traditional Christmas dinner. If you are in need or know a resident who is this Christmas, please register by emailing info@carebridge.ca stating “Food Basket”. Please include your name, address, telephone number, and the number of Adults and Children in the household or feel free to stop by Carebridge Community Support to fill out a form. Please ensure that the adults in the families are aware that the names have been referred. Deadline for submitting names for a Christmas Food Basket is Friday, December 9, 2022. |
The O.P.P. and Lanark County Family and Child Services Angel Tree Program |
The Angel Tree program in Lanark County is celebrating 36 years. It continues to be a success, thanks to the generosity and Christmas spirit in Lanark County and the surrounding area. This year, the Lanark County Family and Child Services and the OPP Angel Tree program had 700 angels. Thanks to the generosity of Mississippi Mills residents, all of the "angels" have been spoken for at both the Municipal Office and the Pakenham Library. |
Home Hospice North Lanark Tree Fundraiser |
Home Hospice North Lanark (HHNL) in partnership with Reid Gardens, Carleton Place, is holding a Tree Fundraiser. Every purchase will support HHNL's ability to deliver comfort, compassion and support to people in our community. Trees will be available for pick up at Reid Gardens, 140 Pick Road, Carleton Place in the Spring of 2022 (exact date and time to be determined). Order early for best selection! Carebridge Community Support is collecting names of Mississippi Mills residents, aged 14 and under and seniors over 65, who need assistance this Christmas. Please include your name, telephone number, child's name(s), age, gift suggestions and sizes or feel free to stop by Carebridge Community Support to fill out a form. Cards and Letters for the Military |
Once again, Kelly Church of Textile Traditions, 80 Mill Street, Almonte, will be collecting and mailing Christmas cards to military personnel serving away from home during Christmas. Complimentary cards are available at the store. Kelly will cover postage.
