Mississippi Mills Art Romp (2022)

On Thanksgiving weekend, October 8 & 9, 2022, check out the Mississippi Mills Art Romp in Almonte, Clayton and Cedar Hill/Pakenham areas. This event features the artists of the Crown and Pumpkin and Maple Run Tours, and included 13 locations with over 50 artists and artisans offering fine art, crafts and foods. This event runs both Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 4pm. Wander, savour and collect at curated and unique studios while driving rural roads in spectacular fall colours.

Maple RunDiscover the arts-centric communities and countryside of Mississippi Mills with our fantastic art shows and tours – there’s one for every season! Kick off the year and celebrate the arrival of spring with the Annual Pakenham Maple Run Tour  and enjoy spectacular spring landscapes while experiencing the art, fine craft and delicious food and drink of 33 exceptional artists, artisans and producers on this self-guided tour. Indulge your senses in beautiful paintings, pottery, pewter, glass, jewelry, photography, textile art, locally produced food and drink, and much more. 

 

 

Next, be inspired by the annual Art in the Attic Show and Sale on Mother’s Day weekend at Almonte Old Town Hall. This show is truly a joyful celebration of local artists of all ages and experiences, from to 83! Works of the Almonte and Area Artists’ Association and Notre Dame High School art students will be on display – this is your chance to purchase a piece before these young people go on to become the next great artists! Don’t miss the Rugrat Rembrandts, an exhibit by preschool artists.

The tour runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, and includes nearly 20 studios with over 50 artists and artisans offering fine art, crafts and foods. Wander, savour and collect at curated and unique studios while driving rustic rural roads in spectacular fall colours.

 

Valley Artisans ShowFinally, round out your experience of Mississippi Mills “Creative Seasons” with the Christmas in the Valley Artisan Show.  This long-standing show is where you want to go find gifts with originality, quality and attention to detail. At this artisan show, a juried selection of more than 30 talented local artisans, crafters and bakers will be presenting their original creations in a relaxed, friendly and festive atmosphere. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days, at the Almonte Community Centre and Arena, Upper Hall.

Cheerfully Made is dedicated to nurturing the craft community by providing outlets for emerging makers of all ages, and to make buying handmade items an easy and fun thing to do!  Formerly known as the Handmade Harvest Craft Show, Cheerfully Made Markets is one of the Ottawa area’s very best craft marketplaces.  With a pool of more than 200 hand-makers taking part in their events, you’ll never know what fabulous and unique gift item you’ll find at one of their shows!  Cheerfully Made Markets hosts two shows each year: a spring show (May), and a holiday show (Nov.).
