Road Closure Notice – Holiday Events Weekend – December 5-7, 2025

As we prepare for a festive weekend filled with holiday celebrations, please be advised of the following road closures. Residents and travellers should expect traffic disruptions and plan accordingly.

Friday, December 5 – Light Up the Night (Almonte)

  • Mill Street will be closed between Almonte Street (west) and 42 Mill Street (east) from noon to 11 p.m.
  • Full closure of Mill Street between 5 and 9 p.m.
  • Parking notice: The former Ultramar lot will not be available for parking during the day.

Saturday, December 6 – Pakenham Santa Claus Parade

Road closures begin at 1 p.m. and remain in effect until the parade concludes (approximately 2 p.m.):

  • County Road 29 (between Jeanie Street and Renfrew Street)
  • Renfrew Street (between County Road 29 and MacFarlane Street)
  • MacFarlane Street (between Renfrew Street and Jeanie Street)
  • Jeanie Street and Elizabeth Street (between County Road 29 and MacFarlane Street)

Reminder: The parade will make two loops around the route.

Notes:

  • The arena and parking lot will only be accessible via Jessie Street from noon to 1 p.m. Access will be for floats and parade participant drop-off. The parking lot is for float parking ONLY.
  • The area will be closed to through traffic during this time.
  • Cars dropping off parade participants can exit via Jeanie Street.

Sunday, December 7 – Almonte Christmas Parade

Starting at 5 p.m., rolling closures will be in place. Roads will reopen as soon as the last float passes:

  • Ottawa Street → Main Street → Almonte Street (between Industrial Drive and Mill Street)
  • Mill Street (between Almonte Street and Bridge Street)
  • Bridge Street (between Mill Street and Country Street)

We kindly ask parade-goers to be courteous and respectful to the volunteers from the Almonte Civitan Club and the Almonte Legion, who will be on-site helping to keep the route safe so everyone can enjoy the festivities.
