Public Notice – Pakenham Waste and Recycle Depot Closing for Winter Season
The Municipality of Mississippi Mills will close the Pakenham Waste and Recycle Depot for the season after Saturday, November 28.
The depot’s final day of operation this year will be Saturday, November 28 from 8 a.m. to noon.
This seasonal closure reflects lower usage during the winter months and helps reduce the costs associated with operating and maintaining the site.
The depot is scheduled to reopen on April 3, 2027.
Disposal options during the closure
Residents can use the following alternative options while the depot is closed:
- Cardboard: Accepted at Stanley Sanitation (268 Wesley Street, Almonte)
- Scrap metal and appliances: Local scrap metal yards, Ed Salvage, 4447 Upper Dwyer Hill Road, Arnprior (fees may apply for Freon removal)
- Tires: Return tires to a retailer for recycling or disposal
