Potential Canada Post Service Disruption Information
Canada Post workers have given a strike notice with intentions to begin strike activities as of Friday, May 23 at midnight.
In the event of a labour disruption, the Municipality of Mississippi Mills is working to ensure billing and important information is distributed to residents. A potential strike may impact the delivery of water and property tax bills.
Water bills:
Water bills for the period of March 1 to April 30, 2025, were mailed May 21 but there may be a delay due to the potential strike.
Alternative options:
- Residents are encouraged to sign up for paperless billing – upon sign up, we will send an electronic copy of the bill
- Secondary paper copies of the water bills are available for pickup at the Mississippi Mills Municipal Office (3131 Old Perth Road) during business hours
Payment due dates for water bills will not change. The deadline for this billing period is Monday, June 16.
Property taxes:
Final tax bills are expected to be sent out in late June with two installments due the second last business day of July and September.
Residents are reminded that the Municipality offers e-billing (www.mississippimills.ca/paperless). Consider going paperless and having your property taxes and water bills delivered right to your email inbox. The process is quick, convenient and free.
