Partial Burn Ban in Effect (Level 4) - Thursday, July 31, 2025

Burn risk level 4: extreme risk, supervised campfires only

Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) has changed the Municipality's burning status to Level 4 - Partial Burn Ban (Extreme Risk). The Partial Burn Ban will only permit campfires in the Municipality throughout areas that are permitted to burn. All non-campfire burning is strictly prohibited during the Partial Burn Ban. Supervised campfires are strongly advised to have extinguishing agents immediately available.

NOTE: The Partial Burn Ban restricts the use of burn barrels and the burning of brush piles and yard waste.

Questions regarding the burn ban or status of a burn permit may be directed to MMFD by calling 613-256-2064 (option 7).

Reminders:

  • Dense residential areas such as Almonte Ward and the Village of Pakenham are prohibited from having any type of burns. The burn permit system will not issue permits to any residents within those areas.
  • No burning is permitted between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from April 1 to October 31, annually.
  • All burns require an active 2025 burn permit. Permits can be activated by calling the Burn Permit Line (613-706-4004). Permits are free and easy to obtain — visit mm.burnpermits.com to create an account.
