Notice of Intention to Pass By-law – 2025 Development Charges

The Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills intends to pass proposed Development Charges by-laws included in the 2025 Development Charges Background Study.

Council will consider these by-laws at its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers (3131 Old Perth Road).

There are five new by-laws:

  • Services Related to a Highway
  • Childcare Services
  • Growth-related Studies
  • Wastewater Services
  • Water Services

Other changes include a 90-day transition period beginning June 18, 2025. This means that any permits issued between that date and September 16, 2025 would be subject to the previous rate. The current exemption for industrial developments will also be removed.
