Beth Granger was born into a nightmare disguised as an elite Christian boarding school. Globe and Mail journalist and author, Eric Andrew-Gee with his book The Mind Mappers.

This is a free event. Registration required: https://form.jotform.com/251255473632254

Eric Andrew-Gee discusses the riveting true story of two men – Wilder Penfield and William Cone – who revolutionized the study of the brain, at a time when neurosurgery was more likely to be a death sentence than a cure.

Andrew-Gee weaves together the rich history of The Neuro (the Montreal Neurological Institute established in a Gothic stone hospital on the slope of a mountain) with that of Penfield and Cone to reveal the untold story of one of the birthplaces of neuroscience. He also revives the tragic, forgotten story of a scientific partnership, writing Dr. William Cone back into the historical record at last.

Books are for sale at the event. This event is in partnership with Mill Street Books, Almonte.

The Seed Farmer: Stories and Seeds for a Resilient Garden – Join MMPL and Mill Street Books for a reading and conversation with the author of The Seed Farmer. Explore how and why growing your own seeds can help you break free from unreliable supply chains, adapt crops to your unique climate, and deepen your connection to your garden.

Hear stories from the field, practical insights for harvesting seed from your home garden, and a vision for how gardeners can play a key role in building sustainable local food systems—one seed at a time. A Q&A follows the reading.
