News from the Mississippi Mills Public Library – Week of July 23, 2025
Summer fun and library updates
Meet our amazing summer camp leaders! We’re halfway through library summer camps, and it’s time to give a big shoutout to the two fantastic leaders who’ve been making it all happen.
Reagan, from Pakenham, brings loads of experience coaching kids, planning activities, and leading events. Her passion for sports and talent for organizing fun-filled days have made her a camp favorite.
Katie, from Almonte, has been part of our library family for three years as a library page. She’s been bringing her love of soccer and incredible drawing skills to camp, inspiring kids every day with her creativity and energy.
With a few weeks left in the summer, we’re so lucky to have Katie and Reagan leading the way. If you’ve been part of the fun, you know how awesome they are. Share your favorite camp moments with us!
Still spaces available in summer camps for ages 4-5 years and 9-12 years!

Still a few days left for July camps: https://form.jotform.com/251603675817260
Please send your child “dressed for a mess,” with a water bottle, ready for outdoor fun, if the weather allows. No snacks during camp – please leave all peanut products at home – to help keep the space safe for everyone.
Starting next week, automatic renewals on all eligible library materials! In an effort to simplify library use, we are now, as a courtesy, automatically renewing items that are eligible for renewal. Don’t want the item longer? Just return it to the library.
We cannot automatically renew:
- Museum and other passes
- Items from other libraries
- Items with holds
- Materials that have already been renewed three times
You’ll get a library notice email when your eligible materials have had the loan period extended or if you need to bring them back.
Craft Squad Drop-in at the Makerspace in Pakenham: A fun, free, and creative drop-in program for kids ages 6 to 9. Come for an hour of hands-on crafting, creativity and friendship.
Make awesome stickers and buttons using: Cricut, Canva, Button maker — or design and paint your own buttons to take home. It’s all about imagination, making, and fun. No registration needed, just drop-in to create!
Board game builders wanted!
Board Game Creation – A Makerspace workshop. Calling all creative minds across Mississippi Mills, ages 10–16! Join us for a FREE three-day summer camp at the Makerspace in Pakenham (Pakenham branch – 138 MacFarlane Street) where you’ll play, redesign, and build your own board game using real makerspace tools.
Great for kids who love games, design, and hands-on projects.
