May 25-31, 2025 marks National AccessAbility Week!

Did you know that 1 out of every 5 Canadians have a disability? Each year, Canada celebrates National AccessAbility Week to recognize the valuable contributions and leadership of Canadians living with disabilities.

This week is also an opportunity to highlight the work of allies, organizations and communities that are removing barriers and to raise awareness of the critical need for accessibility and inclusion for all in our communities.

This year’s theme is “Breaking barriers together: Paving the way for an inclusive future,” which highlights the need to work together to build a more inclusive Canada.

At their May 6 meeting, Mississippi Mills Council officially proclaimed May 25-31, 2025 as National AccessAbility Week in the Municipality.

Keep an eye out throughout this week for tips and information on how to become more accessible and inclusive.
