Sidewalk replacement works within the Municipality will start next week.

When planned sidewalk upgrades for 2025 came in under budget, in June Council approved improvements for up to 22 additional sidewalks in Almonte and Pakenham. A total of $273,315 will be spent on sidewalk upgrades this year.

Replacing damaged sidewalks in the municipality are more than just concrete upgrades. They also:

  • Improve safety and accessibility
  • Encourage active transportation and connectivity
  • Extend the service life of the municipal sidewalk network

Residents impacted by any entrance disturbances will receive notification. Fresh concrete and new forms need time to properly cure before regular activities can resume outside properties.
