Municipal Roadside Brushing Program Has Begun

The Municipality’s roadside brushing program has started and will continue until mid-October.

What is it?

Roadside brushing is an annual maintenance program that removes overgrown trees and brush along roadsides.

It’s a necessary part of providing safe and well-maintained roads.

Why is it important?

  • Road safety – improving sightlines and hazards
  • Controls vegetation
  • Protecting the road base – prevents ice buildup and moisture-related road damage
  • Allows space for snow storage during winter maintenance

The Municipality acknowledges that brush removal methods with a mechanical brush-cutter may look unsightly immediately after brushing, impacted areas naturally and quickly regenerate within a year.

List of roads for 2025:

  • Ramsay Concession 7A between Rae Road and Carleton Place boundary
  • Ramsay Concession 4A between Rae Road and Highway 7
  • Drummond Side Road between Ramsay Concession 7A and Ramsay Concession 8
  • Old Perth Road
  • Old Union Hall Road
  • Bennies Corners Road between Ramsay Concession 8 and County Road 29
  • Rae Road
  • Scotch Corners Road
  • Deer Run Road

Additional spot brushing may be done at other locations during the season, as required.
