Mississippi Mills Launches ParticipACTION Community Challenge on June 2
Get ready, get set, get moving!
Join the Municipality as we kick off the ParticipACTION Community Challenge on Monday, June 2 at 12 p.m. with a Mayor & Council Walk along the Alameda in Almonte. The two-kilometre walk will loop around Almonte and includes warm-up activities, entertainment from local celebrity, Jon Lockhart of the Cowguys and food vendors on site.
For the month of June, Mississippi Mills is getting active in the national ParticipACTION Community Challenge, a friendly competition that encourages Canadians to become more physically active.
Help us win the title of Canada’s Most Active Community and a $100,000 grand prize to go toward recreational programming simply by being active. Additional prizes ranging from $7,500 to $15,000 will also be awarded to other high-performing communities.
“I encourage all residents to join us in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge this June,” said Mayor Christa Lowry. “There are so many ways to get involved, whether through fun events planned, participating in local sports clubs or simple morning walks with your dog. The ultimate reward is a more active community here in Mississippi Mills!”
