Household Hazardous Waste Site Closes for Season August 30

The final day of the 2025 season for the Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Carleton Place is Saturday, August 30.

The site, located at 128 Patterson Crescent, is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. from Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day weekend.

Reminder: Only residents from Mississippi Mills, Carleton Place, Beckwith, Smiths Falls, Drummond/North Elmsley, Perth and Montague can use this site.

Tips to reduce household hazardous waste:

• Be a wise consumer – if you purchase a hazardous product, buy only the amount you can use.
• Read labels – ensure that the product you purchase does what you want it to do before you purchase it. Once purchased, follow the instructions on the label for safe use, ventilation and storage.
• Avoid aerosols whenever possible.
• Give leftover hazardous products to someone who can use them.
• Use non-hazardous alternatives.
