Five Span Bridge Update – Next Planned Closures on October 16 and 27

UPDATE, October 10, 2025: Lanark County has notified the Municipality that an additional bridge closure on Thursday, October 16 is required to pour concrete piers. The bridge closure previously announced for Monday, October 27 also remains in place.

REMINDER: The bridge may be closed periodically until October 2025 as needed to facilitate work. Watch for updates on advanced digital signage and on Lanark County's social media for future planned closure dates.

If the bridge is closed during construction, it will only be closed within the following schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: Half-hour before sunrise to half-hour before sunset
  • Friday: Half-hour before sunrise to noon
  • Bridge will remain open overnight and weekends/holidays

Detour Route Update

The City of Ottawa has closed Upper Dwyer Hill Road for culvert replacement from September 25 until approximately October 21.

Please use the alternate route of Galetta Side Road, Ivy Acres Road and Ritchie Side Road. See the detour map below.
