$2 Paper Billing Fee for Water and Tax Bills

Paper water bills will have a $2 fee starting in March 2026.

This $2 fee also applies to property tax bills, beginning in June 2026.

This fee helps cover the real costs of printing and mailing paper bills, such as paper, envelopes, and postage. It also cuts down on paper use, improves service, and is more reliable during mail disruptions.

Those who sign up for e-billing will not be charged the $2 fee.

Council Proclaims February 11 as 211 Day

At their January 27 meeting, Mississippi Mills Council proclaimed February 11 as 211 Day in the Municipality.

The Municipality will also participate in the United Glow initiative, illuminating the falls and Almonte Old Town Hall in red, to bring attention the critical service.

The 211 service, jointly funded by the Province of Ontario, United Ways and other funders, connects people to vital community, social and government services. It’s available 365 days a year and in more than 150 languages.

From January to September 2025, 211 navigators answered:

  • 438,899 calls
  • 38,105 texts
  • 19,776 other contacts
