Press Release – Carebridge Community Support

Carebridge Community Support is proud to celebrate 50 years of service in 2025. This milestone will be celebrated on National Seniors Day, October 1, with a special event honouring the agency’s legacy of fostering inclusion, connection, and compassion throughout Lanark County.

Founded in 1975 as a grassroots initiative known as the Almonte Community Builders, Carebridge has grown into a leading regional provider of affordable housing, services for seniors, and developmental services. What began as neighbours helping neighbours has evolved into a dynamic organization serving hundreds of individuals and families each year—with a clear mission: to help people live with dignity, independence, and inclusion.

“This anniversary is about honouring our roots while looking ahead to what we can accomplish together,” says Robert Eves, CEO of Carebridge Community Support. “Carebridge has always been grounded in the belief that when we care for one another, everyone benefits. We’re incredibly proud of our legacy—and even more excited about the future we’re building alongside our community.”

A Shared Commitment

As part of this milestone year, and as a proud member of the Lanark Community Alliance, Carebridge also congratulates Community Living Association – Lanark County (CLA) on its 60th anniversary. CLA has been a steadfast advocate for inclusion and independence for people with developmental disabilities. Together with CLA and other Alliance partners, Carebridge is working to build a more inclusive Lanark County for all.

As part of its 50th anniversary, Carebridge will host a community celebration on October 1. The event will feature the premiere of a commemorative video spotlighting the stories, wisdom, and experiences of local seniors, and the many ways Carebridge supports older adults in aging with joy, confidence, and connection.

Carebridge is inviting seniors, along with their caregivers, family members, and friends, to share meaningful moments, memories, or reflections about aging and community using the hashtag #SeasonedAndStrong on social media. Selected stories may be featured as part of the celebration.

Through programs such as prepared meals, transportation, wellness activities, day trips, and assisted living, Carebridge helps seniors stay healthy, engaged, and active in the communities they call home.

Carebridge’s impact extends well beyond its services for seniors. The organization manages more than 220 affordable housing units and continues to develop new housing options for seniors, families, and individuals facing hardship or housing insecurity. Its developmental services team provides a range of supports—from residential care to community participation—to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead full and meaningful lives.

“Our approach has always been people-first,” Eves adds. “Whether someone is looking for a safe place to live, support as they age, or help pursuing a more independent life, we’re here to walk that path with them.”
