Battle of the Atlantic Remembrance Ceremony – May 25, 2025

The Royal Canadian Legion Almonte Branch 240 will hold their annual remembrance ceremony for the Battle of Atlantic on Sunday, May 25.

The ceremony begins at 2 p.m., waterside at the Almonte Old Town Hall. A reception will follow at the Legion (100 Bridge Street). 

The Battle of the Atlantic took place from 1939 to 1945 and was the longest continuous battle of the Second World War. Canada played a key role in the Allied struggle for control of the North Atlantic, as German submarines worked furiously to cripple the convoys shipping crucial supplies to Europe.
