2026 Folkus Concert Series Kicks Off January 31

From Folkus Concert Series

What a delight to share the lineup for our 2026 concert season! Always on a Saturday night, and with a bonus show in May (to be announced).

Our shows are still held at the Almonte Old Town Hall, third floor, in the Ron Caron Auditorium. There’s an accessible elevator you can reach from the side entrance. Doors open at 7 p.m., showtime is at 7:30 p.m. There will be T-shirts and music at the merch table, and cold beverages and cookies at the bar. We have a Square for payment, but cash is never a bad idea.

The lineup

January 31 – Amos the Transparent

Amos the Transparent are Ottawa stalwarts and spent much of the pandemic recording really fun covers of songs they loved.

They made a return to the studio in 2025, and this evening will be a special outing with their new album played in its entirety.

February 28 – The Weber Brothers with special guest Don Bray

The Weber brothers got their start hitchiking to Peterborough to sign up for Ronnie Hawkins’ backing band. Folkus regulars may remember this band backing up Brock Zeman live at Folkus for 2023’s Gravel Project — they bring incredible energy to all their live shows.

Don Bray, a renowned local picker and songwriter, will open.

March 28 – Old Man Luedecke with special guest Heather Adeney

Old Man Luedecke hasn’t visited Folkus since 2010, and since then he’s built a career and won a couple of Junos and a pile of East Coast Music Awards. His latest album explores the bluesy side of roots music with some high-energy originals, but he will probably play some favourite hits, too.

Local singer/songwriter multi-instrumentalist Heather Adeney will open.

April 18 – Danny Michel with special guest Matt Moodie (sold out)

Danny Michel is Canadian gem who has reinvented himself multiple times, taking on guises from pop star to folkie troubadour, even recording a remarkable album in Belize with the Garifuna Collective. The common thread throughout is musicality, curiosity, and charm.

Local songwriter, singer, and familiar face behind the sound board, Matt Moodie, will take the stage for a change.

May 16 – Bonus secret show

Season passes or single show tickets are available at Tickets Please.
