Spring curbside collection of leaf and yard waste in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills takes place May 19-21, 2026.

- West side of Almonte (garbage collection Wednesday)
Wednesday, May 20, 2026
- Hamlets/villages of Appleton, Blakeney, Clayton, Pakenham
- Subdivisions – Pakenham Golf Course, Oakland Crescent (Booth), Fairway Crescent, Julie Anne Crescent, Spruce Crescent, Senator (Torok, Emerich), Heather Crescent (Carl Lee, Duncan)
Thursday, May 21, 2026
- East side of Almonte (garbage collection Friday)
- Subdivisions – Whitetail Ride, Greystone/Stonehome Crescent
Areas outside of the above are not collected curbside, but leaf and yard waste may be brought to the following locations:
- Beckwith Transfer Station – 9271 Cavanagh Road, Carleton Place (fees may apply). Hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Howie Road Depot – 1470 Howie Road, Carp (May 2 to November 7, 2026). Hours of operation: Wednesday, 3 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Pakenham Depot – 580 Barr Side Road, Pakenham. Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Acceptable items
- Leaves
- Brush
- Pumpkins
- Grass clippings
- Garden waste
- Tree trimmings
- House plants
Clippings from trees and shrubs should be tied with string (no wire) securely in small bundles to permit easy handling.
Items not accepted
- Kitchen waste
- Milled lumber
- Stumps or tree limbs with a diameter in excess of 50mm (2”). The depots will accept up to 150mm (6”).
- Unbundled brush
- Sod, dirt, soil, stones, garbage, metal, animal droppings
The Carleton Place Leaf and Yard Waste Depot on Patterson Street is not for Mississippi Mills residents, it is for Carleton Place residents only.
