Severe Thunderstorm Watch – July 14, 2026

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for our region, beginning late this afternoon and into the evening.

Expected conditions:

  • Wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h
  • Quarter to ping pong ball-sized hail

Timing:

  • Rapidly developing thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening
  • Forest fire smoke aloft may limit the development of thunderstorms

Additional information:

  • Utility outages are possible
  • Significant damage to property, buildings and trees is possible
  • Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches
  • Large hail can cause significant damage and injury
