Severe Thunderstorm Watch – July 14, 2026

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for our region, beginning late this afternoon and into the evening.
Expected conditions:
- Wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h
- Quarter to ping pong ball-sized hail
Timing:
- Rapidly developing thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening
- Forest fire smoke aloft may limit the development of thunderstorms
Additional information:
- Utility outages are possible
- Significant damage to property, buildings and trees is possible
- Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches
- Large hail can cause significant damage and injury
