Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for our region, beginning late this afternoon and into the evening.

Expected conditions:

Wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h
Quarter to ping pong ball-sized hail

Timing:

Rapidly developing thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening
Forest fire smoke aloft may limit the development of thunderstorms

Additional information:

Utility outages are possible
Significant damage to property, buildings and trees is possible
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches
Large hail can cause significant damage and injury
