Severe Thunderstorm Watch – August 10, 2026

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for this afternoon into this evening. Storms may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Expected conditions:
- Wind gusts up to 90 km/h
- Quarter to ping pong ball sized hail
- Locally heavy rainfall amounts up to 50 mm
- Risk of a tornado
Timing:
- This afternoon into this evening
Thunderstorms are expected to develop or move into the region this afternoon and continue to affect the area into this evening. Some storms could become severe with strong winds, large hail and heavy rain. Conditions may become favourable for some storms to produce tornadoes, but confidence in any tornado threat is low.

- Utility outages are possible
- Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible
- Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches
- If inside, take cover in a basement or interior room
- If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail
