Public Notice – 2026 Mill and Overlay Program Begins October 30

A yellow construction truck empties material onto a roadway while another truck waters the material. A white box with blue border reads 'Mill and Overlay Program - October 30 to November 9.' Below is a white, blue and green logo with a stylized 'MM' with the words 'Mississippi Mills' next to it.

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills has contracted D Rock Paving to complete roadway improvements as part of the Municipality’s 2026 Mill and Overlay Program.

A mill and overlay is a cost-effective road maintenance procedure used to extend the life of existing asphalt without requiring full street reconstruction. It involves milling off the old asphalt and replacing it with new material.

Work is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 30 and is anticipated to be completed by Monday, November 9, weather permitting.

Work will be completed on the following roads:

  • Wesley Street (John Street to Water Street)
  • Mitcheson Street (Wilkinson Street to Edward Street)
  • James Street (Country Street to William Street)

Residents in the affected areas have been notified in advance of the upcoming work. The Municipality will make every effort to minimize disruptions during construction.
