OPP Respond to Several Thefts from Vehicles

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with 29 criminal offences in connection with a series of thefts from vehicles.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, officers received reports of thefts from unattended vehicles in the Township of Mississippi Mills.
As a result of the investigation, Dustin Amos, 28-years-old, of Mississippi Mills was charged with:
- Theft under $5000 – three counts
- Attempt to commit theft under $5,000 – four counts
- Mischief under $5,000
- Trespass by night – seven counts
- Failure to comply with a probation order – 14 counts
The accused was arrested on Thursday, July 9, 2026, and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth for a bail hearing.
The OPP would like to remind the public to ensure all unattended vehicles are locked and that valuables are removed or placed out of sight to deter property-related crimes.
