You're Invited! Lanark Transportation celebrates 25th anniversary

From the Lanark Transportation Association.
This invitation is for you! Whether you are a seasoned rider with Lanark Transportation, only recently started riding with us, or are looking to learn more about our services, we invite you to our 25th anniversary celebration!
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m., members of the public are welcome to drop in on our celebration at the Beckwith Community Hall (2022 Beckwith Park Lane, Carleton Place). Come out and spend some time with your friendly drivers, chat with the donors and government representatives that make our services possible, and enjoy some light refreshments. Remarks and a cake cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m.
“This quarter-century milestone is significant to everyone involved,” said Marilyn Bird, the executive director of the Lanark Transportation Association. “Not only does it allow us to reflect on the impact we’ve been able to have on the community as a non-profit, but to also look towards the future, imagining how else we could better support our rural residents over the next 25 years.”
Attendees are asked to RSVP by emailing admin@lanarktransportation.com, or by calling 613-264-8256.
About Lanark Transportation:
Lanark Transportation is a grassroots, not-for-profit association serving Lanark County and the Town of Smiths Falls with accessible, affordable transportation since 2001. Our friendly drivers connect riders with life-enhancing supports and services, ensuring rural residents have access to the same quality services of those living in urban centres. Transportation costs are subsidised through government grants, donations, and individual supports such as the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).
