Flags Lowered for National Day of Mourning – April 28, 2026

Three flagpoles with flags at half-mast and a sign next to them that reads 'Municipal Office.' A white box with blue border has text that reads 'Public Notice - Flags Lowered - National Day of Mourning.'

Flags at all municipal facilities have been lowered today in recognition of the National Day of Mourning, observed annually on April 28.

This day is dedicated to honouring workers who have lost their lives, suffered injury or illness, or experienced a work‑related tragedy. We pause to remember the families, friends, and communities forever changed by these losses, and we acknowledge the profound impact workplace incidents have across our country.

The National Day of Mourning is also a time to reaffirm our shared responsibility to create safer, healthier workplaces.
