Fire Risk Status Lowered to Level 2 - June 17, 2026

Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) has lowered the current burn risk to Level 2 (Moderate Risk) due to recent rainfall and additional precipitation expected in the coming days.
Under this level, open air burning is permitted. Residents must continue to follow all burn permit rules and ensure fires are closely monitored at all times.
- An active 2026 burn permit is required before any open air burning
- Activate your permit prior to each burn by calling 613-706-4004
- Visit mm.burnpermits.com or call 613-256-2064 option 7
Reminder:
Brush, drum, and windrow fires are not permitted between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (April 1 – October 31).
Even with improved conditions, fires can still spread quickly. Please burn responsibly and always have extinguishing tools readily available.
