Bridging Generations Continues “Taking Charge of Your Health” Webinar Series

Following a successful first session in September, Bridging Generations – Age Friendly Pakenham is continuing its free Taking Charge of Your Health webinar series with Becoming an Engaged Partner in Your Care on Thursday, October 15 at 2:30 p.m.

The first webinar, Healthcare Advocacy 101: Understanding the Healthcare System, brought together participants joining from home as well as community members gathering at local viewing locations. The interest in the session reinforced something Bridging Generations heard throughout the registration process: people want practical, understandable information that can help them feel more confident navigating healthcare for themselves and the people they care about.

The October session will build on that foundation by looking at how people can take a more active role in their own healthcare.

Presented by Jenni Poulin, Manager of Community Services with Lanark Community Alliance, the webinar will explore practical ways to prepare for healthcare appointments, ask questions, understand care options and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.

Participants can join the live webinar online from home through Zoom, or attend a community viewing at the Almonte or Pakenham branches of the Mississippi Mills Public Library.

For those unable to participate on October 15, a recorded community viewing will also be held at the Carebridge Stan Mills Lounge on Thursday, October 22 at 2:30 p.m.
