2026 Sidewalk Improvements Underway

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills has begun work on its 2026 Sidewalk Program, with new sidewalks being installed in both Pakenham and Almonte this fall to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.
Locations receiving new sidewalks
Pakenham:
- West side of County Road 29 (from Jeanie Street to Waba Road)
Almonte:
- Carleton Street (from Rosamond Street to Wellington Street)
- John Street (from Wesley Street to Reserve Street)
- Martin Street North (from Maude Street to Victoria Street)
The new sidewalks will be 2.4 metres wide and will help create safer, more accessible routes for pedestrians throughout the community.
Construction is now underway and is expected to be completed by mid-November.
