2026 Remembrance Day Services in Mississippi Mills

Each year since 1931, at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Canadians pause to remember and honour those who have served and sacrificed in defence of our country.
In Mississippi Mills, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 240 Poppy Campaign is now underway. Running from October 24 to November 11, the campaign raises vital funds to support veterans and their families while helping ensure future generations never forget who they served.
To mark the launch of this year’s campaign, Almonte Legion Branch 240 President John Dalgity and Poppy Campaign Chair and Second Vice President Kevin Cadman presented the first poppy to Mississippi Mills Mayor Christa Lowry.
Residents can support the campaign by making a donation at poppy boxes located at the Municipal Office and at locations throughout the community, including:
- Jonsson’s Your Independent Grocer
- Levi Home Hardware
- Rexall
- LCBO
- The Beer Store
- Tim Hortons
- Nicholson’s Sundries
Every donation directly supports veterans and their families through programs and services delivered by the Royal Canadian Legion.
