Small Business Advisory Centre Foodpreneur Advantage Seminar Series Starts in August

Mark your calendars! The Foodpreneur Advantage Start-Up Seminars are here to kickstart your entrepreneurial journey.

Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, these webinars are packed with the tools and knowledge you need to succeed in the food industry.

The first series begins in August 2025 and subsequent programs are offered four times per year, beginning again in November 2025, January and April 2026.

The program provides free introductory expert-led training sessions and industry insights, specifically aimed at food-related businesses, to help them navigate getting started or expanding into new product lines.

The free webinar series includes:

  • August 13, 10-11 a.m.: Bar Codes and Beyond – What you need to be market ready (only offered in August series)
  • August 21, 10-11 a.m.: Starting a Food Business and Regulatory Compliance
  • August 28, 20-11 a.m.: How to Sell Your Food Product
  • September 4, 10-11 a.m.: Pricing to Make Profits
  • September 11, 10-11 a.m.: Marketing and Branding Your Food Product
  • September 18, 10-11 a.m.: Food Safety Fundamentals for Start-Ups
  • September 25, 10-11 a.m.: Labelling and Packaging Your Food Product

All sessions are virtual.

The Foodpreneur Advantage Program was developed in 2021 and is delivered through a partnership of various Small Business Enterprise Centres (SBECs) across Ontario. Under the Foodpreneur Advantage umbrella, business support Centres can collectively offer food-related programming that can be presented with more frequency and depth.

Each session is designed to provide practical tips, expert insights, and actionable strategies to help you launch and grow your business.
