Environment Canada has issued a yellow (moderate) rainfall warning for the region beginning this evening and ending Saturday evening.

Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected. Substantial snow melt may contribute to ponding on roads and low-lying areas.

Several rounds of showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected with the first expected to move into Ontario this evening. The rain combined with mild temperatures will likely melt much of the significant snowpack and lead to additional runoff.

For information concerning flooding, please visit Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority’s Flood Status page or www.ontario.ca/floods for tips on what you should do before, during and after a flood. For more flooding information, visit www.mississippimills.ca/flooding

Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Don't drive through flooded roadways. Watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
