In memory of Warren Thorngate
When you visit the Almonte Branch, you’ll notice a new bench, placed lovingly in memory of Warren Thorngate, a long-time supporter of the library and a dedicated member of the library board.
Warren’s contributions to the library and our broader community were many and meaningful. He brought his intelligence and deep compassion to everything he was involved in – a combination that inspired all who had the pleasure of working with him. This bench was made possible through the generous support of donors. The library staff, board, and Warren’s wife, Barb Carroll, Chair of the Friends of the Library (in photo), extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed.
Yellow Boot Campaign – 100% of donations go towards Hike for Hospice!
These boots aren’t just for show — they’re helping raise funds for Home Hospice North Lanark’s October Hike for Hospice, supporting programs and services that make a real difference in the lives of friends, family, loved ones, and neighbors in our community.
Every donation helps provide care, comfort, and connection when it matters most. This year’s hike has a $30,000 goal. See a yellow boot? Drop in your spare change (or more)! Boots located at both MMPL branches.
The Friends of MMPL BIG BOOK SALE starts this weekend
And it’s open again next weekend! The sale is located at Rexall Mall, Ottawa Street, in Almonte. All revenues go to support library programs! Thank you!
