Northwest Watermain Loop

The Northwest Watermain Loop is a combination of multiple water projects with the ultimate goal of improving water availability and service to the northwest portion of Almonte.

Project Updates:

Sections of the watermain loop projects continue to make progress. Recently, the design for a 300 mm watermain extension from Well 6 to just above Wylie Street was completed. The design calls for connections to be made from County Road 29 to Wylie Street, Hope Street, and to an at-grade water storage tank. This will improve the service to existing residents in the Cameron Neighbourhood and is the first portion of the Northwest Watermain Loop. Construction on this project is expected to start in the spring and complete in the fall of 2026.

Future/ Upcoming Work

  • Construction of the first part of the County Road 29 watermain extension between Well 6 and the unopened Dunn Street road allowance (just above Wylie Street).
  • Design and construction of the second part of the County Road 29 watermain extension from the unopened Dunn Street road allowance to the Almonte north boundary.
  • Design and construction of the subdivision located on the Brown Lands which will bring a watermain connection from County Road 29 to the edge of the Mississippi River across from Carss Street.
  • Environmental Assessment for a watermain crossing the Mississippi River between Carss Street and the future subdivision as well as design and construction.
