Mississippi Mills is having a Photo Contest! Get out your camera, get ready and show your love for this beautiful place we live in!
Photos can be entered into the contest from May 1 – May 31 by emailing events@mississippimills.ca
The Top 10 will be selected by Council and then you, the public, can vote!
PRIZES! Gift certificates to your favourite Mississippi Mills business!
1st Prize - $200
2nd Prize $100
3rd Prize - $75
The top 10 photos will be printed in large format and put on display for all to enjoy!
Photos must be a minimum of 2MB.
Mississippi Mills Photo Contest Rules & Regulations
The Photo Contest is open from May 1 – May 31, 2024.
Photos must feature Mississippi Mills content/subject matter.
Each photo should be submitted with the photographer’s name, location the photograph was taken and photographer’s residence (i.e. name of town/city).
Format - photographs must be submitted in jpeg or png format. Photographs must be in a high resolution format (minimum 2 MB). Small photos will not be considered for the contest.
Submission - only electronic photographs will be accepted. Photographs must be submitted by emailing events@mississippimills.ca or by using We Transfer or Dropbox to events@mississippimills.ca.
Contest details and results will be communicated through Mississippi Mills social media channels and website.
Selected photos will be printed and displayed at Almonte Old Town Hall (14 Bridge St.) and/or the Municipal Office (3131 Old Perth Rd.) and will be used in municipal social media posts.
Copyright Notice - By submitting your photos, you agree to grant the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, non-exclusive permission to use your photo in connection with any media, now existing or subsequently developed, for any purpose. Copyright of your photo will remain with you. You can continue to use the photo in any way you choose, including allowing others to use it. In order that the Municipality of Mississippi Mills can use your photo, you confirm that (a) your photo is your own original work; (b) you own all the rights in the photo, including copyright; (c) you have the right to give the Municipality of Mississippi Mills permission to use your photo for the purposes specified in these rules; (d) the photo is not defamatory and does not infringe any Canadian laws or violate the rights of any third party; (e) you have the consent of anyone who is identifiable in your photo or the consent of their parent/guardian if they are minors; (f) you waive any moral rights that you may have in the photo; (g) you indemnify the Municipality of Mississippi Mills against any claim, demand, action, suit, or other proceedings against the Municipality of Mississippi Mills arising out of the photo or any false or inaccurate statements. Submitted photos must not be currently held in copyright by any individual or organization.
By entering the contest, each participant acknowledges having read these rules and regulations and agrees to be bound by them and all decisions of the contest organizers, which shall be final. Winners will be contacted by phone or email, and may be required to sign acknowledgement of receipt and acceptance of these rules. $200.00 prize will be awarded for the winning entry by gift certificate to the winner’s preferred business in Mississippi Mills. $100 prize for second place entry by gift certificate to the winner’s preferred business in Mississippi Mills. $75 prize for third place entry by gift certificate to the winner’s preferred business in Mississippi Mills.
Municipal staff, Councillors and their immediate family cannot enter into the contest.
By participating in the Mississippi Mills Photo Contest, entrants accept and agree to these official contest rules and guidelines. If you do not want to grant the Municipality of Mississippi Mills the permission set out in these rules, please do not submit your photo.
