April 28, 2021, is National Day of Mourning for persons killed or injured in the workplace.  This is a day to pay our respects to, and remember, the thousands of workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents, and to honour the many families and friends who have been deeply affected by these tragedies.  Every worker has the right to return home safe at the end of each work day.

All flags at municipal locations will be lowered to half mast today in honour of National Day of Mourning.
