Below is a press release from the OPP - Lanark County Detachment:
It's year 37 and this program continues to be a success thanks to the generosity and Christmas spirit in Lanark County and the surrounding area. This year the Lanark County Family and Child Services / OPP Angel Tree program is starting with 650 angels! The "angels" assigned to trees are children directly affiliated with the Lanark County Family and Child Services and other affiliated programs. The goal is to provide a Christmas gift to each child.
The Lanark County municipal offices of Tay Valley, Lanark Highlands, Drummond-North Elmsley, Montague, Beckwith, Municipality of Mississippi Mills and the Pakenham Library who have been with the program since the start are participating once again. We thank those employees who continue to monitor the trees and assist with the dispersal of the angels into the communities. Our community partners this year in Perth are Albany, Eaton, Lanark County Administration, Perth Town Hall, Perth Athletic Center, Spring Children and Uniglass Plus. In Carleton Place and Almonte the community partners are Walmart, Ricks Glass Medic and Tinting, Heritage Dental and Almonte Chiropractic. These community partners broaden the dispersal of angels within their work spaces and are a great assistance to our program. Our OPP ERHQ continue to be a huge support with the internal distribution of angels to OPP employees.
We are certain that this year's goal will be met as it has in the past. Effective Thursday November 3rd, 2022 Angel Trees bearing "Angel Cards" will be distributed for pickup to the following locations for persons to attend wishing to retrieve an angel.

Lanark County O.P.P. Detachment
Drummond/North Elmsley Municipal Office
Tay Valley Municipal Office
Lanark Highlands Municipal Office
Pakenham Public Library
Walmart - Carleton Place
Carleton Place O.P.P. Detachment
Mississippi Mills Municipal Office
Beckwith Township Office
Montague Township Office
Perth Town Hall
Please attend one of the above locations and retrieve an "Angel Card." Return a gift (unwrapped or in a gift bag) to the tree BEFORE Friday, December 2nd, 2022. Please ensure the Angel Card is affixed to the gift AND the gift contents are printed on the back of the card.
Donations of money and items of new clothing/toys are gratefully accepted. Lanark County O.P.P. with the assistance of the Mississippi Tay Crimestoppers will attend the tree locations on December 5th and 6th and return the gifts to the Lanark County Family and Child Services who in turn will ensure children/youth that have been brought to their attention have a gift at Christmas. We thank everyone for participating! Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year!
