3D Printer Launch. Wednesday, March 31st Drop in from 5 to 7pm. Come and see the library’s new 3D printer at work. We will be talking about the uses of a 3D printer and we will be printing a live demo object that will complete by the end of the evening.

For preschoolers 

Storytime Craft Kits & Fun. Take home a bag that contain almost everything you need to make a craft as well as the added fun of a couple of finger plays or songs. Join the Storytime Craft Facebook group to receive updates on what is available and to follow the videos! Storytime Craft Kits and Fun 

For school age kids 

STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) Craft in a Bag. Take home a bag with materials for an afternoon of crafts, science, technology, engineering or math games. They have a different theme each month. Join the STEAM Facebook group for pictures/videos and to share your creations STEAM Programs 2020-2021 

For ages 8 to 15: STEM programs

OZOBOT challenges on Tuesdays at the Almonte Branch from 4:30 to 5:30pm. Ozobots are a little toy robot that blends the physical and digital worlds and teaches kids programming. Ozobots can identify lines, colors, and codes on both digital surfaces, such as an iPad, and physical surfaces, such as paper. Each workshop is a different challenge.

Video Game Design with SCRATCH online Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6pm. Connect online with our STEM instructor on two consecutive Thursdays for a fun learning experience making your own video games. Each workshop is different.

LEGO EV3 Robotics at the Almonte Branch on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. These educational STEM robot workshops make engineering fun for everyone. Builders can program their STEM robots to talk, walk, grab, shoot targets and more! Each workshop is different.  Register for these programs here Registration for February STEM Online Programs 

For tween and teens 

STEAM Craft in a Bag for Teens. (ages 9 and up) Take home a bag with materials for an afternoon of art, crafts, science, technology, engineering, or math games. Each month’s bags have different themes. Join the STEAM Facebook group for pictures/videos and to share your creations STEAM Craft in a Bag for Teens  

For adults 

LEGO Sumobot Competition. Almonte Branch, March 30th Try your hand at building a sumobot with Lego EV3 Mindstorms and have some fun competing against other teams. Robot-sumo is a sport in which two robots attempt to push each other out of a circle (in a similar fashion to the sport of sumo). Register here https://form.jotform.com/210494880927263

Senior Craft in a Bag. Take home a bag with monthly diversions, Sudoku, crosswords, mandalas, trivia and more!
