On behalf of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to Chief Williams and all members of the Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) for their swift and professional response to a major fire in Pakenham last night.
The MMFD responded to a structure fire on Cedar Hill Road . All members performed their duties efficiently and professionally, ensuring that all firefighters and residents were kept safe.
My thanks also extends to neighbouring fire services from Lanark Highlands, Ottawa, and Beckwith for their support through mutual aid, as well as to Carleton Place who remained on standby at the Almonte Fire Station.
Working diligently all night to contain a fire is no small feat. It provides great comfort to our entire community knowing that, in difficult times such as this, we can always rely on their selflessness and dedication to answer the call.
Thank you to the officers for their leadership, and to all members of the MMFD for their discipline, and commitment to the safety of our residents.
