Construction Update
Construction within Phase C – Brae Street
Cavanagh Construction is currently working within Phase C – Brae Street of the downtown core reconstruction project. Efforts are focused on the installation of new watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer systems. The installation of underground work is approximately 70% complete and scheduled to be completed next week.
Traffic Phase C – Brae Street
A full road closure has been in effect since March 2nd, 2023, beginning at Almonte Street, and progressing up Mill Street towards Brae Street. Accessibility to businesses that require deliveries and or access will be accommodated. As construction progresses, access from Almonte Street will be restored.
Commencement of construction within Phase E – Little Bridge Street
Cavanagh Construction is set to recommence Phase E – Little Bridge Street construction activities as part of the Downtown Revitalization project on April 3rd, 2023. The work includes cutting and removing sidewalks/asphalt, tree removal, and installation of temporary signage. Installation of temporary watermain, and sanitary sewer bypasses will start once removal works have completed. Prior to any planned water disruptions, affected residents and businesses will receive hand-delivered notices.
Traffic Phase E – Little Bridge Street
A road closure will be in effect beginning April 3rd, 2023, between Mill Street and the entrance to Thoburn Mills. Accessibility to businesses that require deliveries and or access will be accommodated. As construction progresses, access from Mill Street will be restored.
Please note that garbage collection shall remain the same and bins will be relocated for collection and back to residence/businesses by end of day.
