Source Water Protection - New Signs to Mark Drinking Water Protection Zones

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills has received calls from residents regarding companies going door to door offering water quality testing and sales for in-home water treatment systems.  These companies have implied on several occasions that they are working in association with the municipality on a water quality inspection program.  Currently, the Municipality is taking steps to notify residents that it has no affiliation with any of these companies or their dealings in door to door sales.    The only water quality sampling carried out in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills is conducted by Municipal employees or staff of the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA).    In all cases where testing is required, the Municipality contacts residents in advance to advise of the purpose of any program being carried out.     It is therefore recommended that residents be aware of these organizations and exercise caution in any future dealings.

If you should have any questions or concerns about regarding the above notice, please contact the Public Works Department at (613) 256-2064 ext 258.
