 Message from Mayor Lowry

These are extraordinary times. Changes are coming quickly and in a way no one has ever experienced. This creates uncertainty for everyone. I want you to know that we are here to walk this road with you. We will use this page to share up to date information, resources and support programs including those from Lanark County, and both the Provincial and Federal Governments.

Mississippi Mills Municipal building at 3131 Old Perth Road is now open for payments and scheduled appointments only. You are encouraged to continue communicating with Municipal staff via telephone (613-256-2064) or e-mail town@mississippimills.ca as much as possible.

The Mississippi Mills Public Library Computer Labs are re-opening by appointment. The libraries in Almonte and Pakenham have both re-opened with reduced hours and safety protocols in place. Curbside pick up for library material is also still available. Please visit their website to learn more.

Municipal recreational facilities will open to the public in keeping with provincial directives. Currently all parks are open. The splash pad at Gemmill Park will re-open on Friday, June 12th. Residents are reminded to practice social distancing and take all necessary precautions.

The following washrooms will be open to the public 7-days a week from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm:

Gemmill Park Splash Pad,  Metcalfe Park, Pakenham Boat Launch, Pakenham Beach, Clayton Taylor Park (Boat Launch), Appleton Bay Park (Boat Launch)

Almonte Old Town Hall washrooms are open seven days a week from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm. The washrooms at the Almonte Library will also be open Tuesday - Friday from 10 am until 2 pm.

Although the days ahead are unclear, the time will come when this is all behind us and life as we cherish it will return. Let's start planning for those sunny days. We're in this together.

Be safe and be well.
Mayor Lowry

Social Services Relief Fund - Via Lanark County

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Province of Ontario has provided relief funding to Social Services to help support those most in need. As part of Lanark County's allocation, an emergency rent/ mortgage bank has been set up to assist County residents who are behind in their rent/ mortgage and are at-risk of being evicted or losing their home. If your household income last month is below the maximum Household Income Limits (see chart below) and your current assets (chequing and savings accounts) are less than a total of 2 months' rent/mortgage, you may be eligible for assistance under this program.
