UPDATE ON COVID-19 MUNICIPAL MEASURES TAKEN

This morning the Mayor and senior Municipal staff met to assess the evolving Covid-19 situation. In keeping with the directive from the Province to close all Ontario public schools, the municipality has made the following decisions:

  • Closure of all municipally run daycares effective 6:00pm on March 13, 2020
    • All before and after school programs will be closed
    • State St. facility to be closed
    • Holy Name of Mary facility closed

  • Closure of the following municipally-owned facilities:
    • Stewart Community Centre
    • Almonte Community Centre
    • Auditorium at Almonte Old Town Hall
    • Almonte Curling Club
    • Cedar Hill School
  •  The Cancellation of all Municipally run events and programming.
  •  The Cancellation of all private functions held at any of the above-mentioned facilities.

  • All advisory Committee meetings will be cancelled until further notice.

The municipality will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and take direction from the Provincial government, Health Unit and Lanark County. As always, we encourage all residents to be prudent and follow the directive from the Health Unit on how to protect themselves and their family.
