Fall Water Main Flushing in Almonte Ward Begins September 18

The Corporation of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills will be flushing the water mains in all areas of Almonte Ward beginning Monday, September 18, 2023 to Tuesday, October 31, 2023, during the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. (excluding weekends).

2024 Waste Disposal Passes Are in the Mail

Mississippi Mills homeowners, watch the mail for your two free 2024 Waste Disposal Passes. You should receive them within the next week. The 2024 passes are printed on salmon-coloured paper.

Each pass is eligible for a single load up to 250 kilograms. The passes, for Mississippi Mills residents only, can only be redeemed at the Beckwith Transfer Station (9271 Cavanagh Road, Carleton Place). It is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

While attending the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference in London, Ont., Mayor Christa Lowry advocated for Mississippi Mills and a fair and equitable tax system.

Please be advised that the Pakenham Depot (580 Barr Side Road), will be closed on Saturday, August 26 and Saturday, September 2.

The Howie Road Depot (1470 Howie Road) is open to all Mississippi Mills residents on Wednesdays (3 to 7 p.m.) and Saturdays (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Council Members Join OPP 'Bail Out' Fundraiser to Support Food Bank

Mississippi Mills Council launched its Bail Out Fundraiser, in partnership with Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), at the August 15th Council meeting with a special video.

During summer recess, some of our members of council have gotten themselves into hot water! The OPP has ‘charged’ the following council members:
