Waste Management
Waste Collection includes the administration of a solid waste collection and disposal system. Presently the department administers and monitors 3 landfill sites in Mississippi Mills. These include the former Ramsay Landfill site (closed), Pakenham Landfill Site (Recycling Transfer Station) and the Landfill on Howie Road (Waste & Recyclables).

Can you compost in the winter?

Yes you can continue to add materials throughout the winter. The decomposition process will slow down, but the pile will become active again in the spring.
