Valley Heartland Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) - is a community-based organization dedicated to stimulating job creation and economic growth through business and community development. Funded by Industry Canada, Valley Heartland CFDC assists small towns and rural communities to strengthen and diversify their economies.

Lanark North Leeds Small Business Enterprise Centre - is co-located with Valley Heartland in the Regional Centre for Business Development. As an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the centre specializes in the promotion and maintenance of small business in the Lanark-North Leeds area. Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit - A 10 percent Federal tax credit to cover salaries and wages paid to training new apprentices in the first two years of the contract.

Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit - A 25 percent provincial refundable tax credit on salaries and wages paid to new apprentices in certain skilled trades to help offset employers' costs. Small businesses receive a 30 percent tax credit.
