Building Occupancy Classifications:

Group A1
- Assembly Occupancies intended for the production and viewing of the performing arts
Group A2 - Assembly Occupancies not elsewhere classified elsewhere in Group A
Group A3 - Assembly Occupancies of the arena type
Group A4 - Assembly Occupancies in which occupants are gathered in the open air
Group B1 - Detention Occupancies
Group B2 - Care and Treatment Occupancies

Group C - Residential Occupancies
Group D - Business and Personal Services Occupancies

Part 9 Buildings Consist of:

1. Buildings Less than 3 Stories in height
2. Buildings with footprint area less than 600m2
3. All Group C, D, E, F2 and F3 Occupancies

Part 3 Buildings Consist of:

1.  All Group "A" Occupancies
2.  All Group "B" Occupancies
3.  All Group "F1" Occupancies
4.  All Group C, D, E, F2, and F3 Occupancies with footprint area greater than 600m2 and/or Greater than 3 stories in Building Height.

Part 10 Project:

Is a change of use permit for changing the use within an existing building or part of an existing building.  These alterations may or may not require a permit or compensating construction to take place, for more clarification please contact us with your plans of changing a use and the Inspector or Chief Building Official will gladly verify what steps must be taken.

Part 11 Project:

Is the basic or extensive renovation of a building that is greater than five (5) years old and may permit specific allowances for existing construction to be adequate when renovating depending on the extent of the renovation, for more clarification please contact us with your renovation plans and the Inspector or Chief Building Official will gladly verify what steps must be taken

Minimum Site-Plan Requirements:

- Lot size, dimensions of the property, setbacks to property lines for any existing or proposed buildings.  
- The dimensioned location of any other existing building(s) on the property
- Existing right-of-ways, easements and municipal services
- Exiting power lines or underground power line, driveway, septic tank and bed location and well location

Minimum Grading Plan Requirements: 

- Accurate geodetic survey elevations when possible
- A permanent bench mark for reference
- Footing elevations, where step footings indicate elevations of all steps, elevations of footings on frost walls
- Top of foundation wall where step foundations show all elevations
- Average grade around foundation and spot elevations
- Garage floor, basement floor, 1st and 2nd floor elevations, peak roof elevation, sump hole elevation and 
   elevations of building heights where height of buildings are critical
- Driveway, walkways, decks, retaining walls, walkout elevations, parking yards, turnarounds
- Slopes of yards, driveways, terracing or berming
- Swales, grade elevations, outlet elevations and inlet elevations.
