Organics make up a big chunk of residential garbage. Currently, the municipality provides the following options for getting these materials out of the waste stream and turning them into mulch. Please take advantage of the following:
Composting can divert as much as 30% of household waste sent to landfill sites (and how many bag tags you need). With composting, rich humus for lawns and gardens is created, adding nutrients to plants. The great thing about backyard composting is that it generates a wonderful product for your garden! Why have the Municipality collect and landfill organic waste when you can process it on your property for personal use and save money? Backyard composters may be purchased at the Municipal Office for $40.00 taxes included (price subject to change).
