Created as a result of municipal amalgamations in January 1998, the Town of Mississippi Mills is made up of the former Townships of Ramsay and Pakenham and the Town of Almonte.

Mississippi Mills Council are seeking community input into the Municipalities Strategic Plan which will set priorities for the next few years. A public meeting and presentation was held on October 26th.
